Presented by Contra Costa Master Gardener Janet Miller

Bio-intensive gardening can reduce the amount of water, fertilizer and space used for vegetable gardens while increasing the amount that is produced. CCMG Janet Miller, part of the team that maintains “Our Garden” and frequent lecturer on the bio-intensive method, will expertly guide the audience through the process of creating a healthy vegetable garden.  The presentation will cover a wide range of topics including: soil preparation, starting with seeds and transplants, cover crops, fertilizing, irrigation, mulching, planting times and selecting the right crops.  Attendees will leave the lecture with the knowledge necessary to create their own bio-intensive garden. There will be time for Q&A. No charge.

The San Ramon Library is at 100 Montgomery Street, on the corner of Bollinger Canyon and Marketplace. For more information, please call 925-973-2850 or visit ccclib.org/locations/sanramon.html for directions.
