Therapeutic Garden Programs; Autumn and Winter Walks

With Garden Director Patrice Hanlon

The Gardens at Heather Farm invites visitors to celebrate the beauty of the garden during the quiet season. Autumn and winter offer many images of great beauty that are often overlooked as summer fades.  Join Patrice, who offers therapeutic horticultural classes and holds a certificate in Horticultural Therapy, for a second series of monthly outdoor narrated walks to relieve the winter doldrums.

Each walk is designed to provide a respite from the darker days of winter by observing the subtleties and beauty of the winter garden. This walk is held rain, or shine; dress warmly and wear comfortable walking shoes.  You will have the opportunity for reflection in your own personal journal.  The walks each end with hot tea and muffins!

Dates: Four Fridays from 9:30-11:00am

Cost: $5.00 per walk or $15.00 for the series; pre-registration is required; class size is limited to 15.

October 4:           The Finale of the Season - Pods, Berries and Leaves

November 8:     The Bones of the Garden- Deciduous Trees and Shrubs
