Sustainable Lafayette and the Lafayette Open Space Group are showing a special film about our state parks called “The First 70” at the Lafayette Library on August 28th at 7pm.  It is an inspiring journey through California to visit the majestic state parks slated to close due to budget cuts, made by two young people who visited all 70 parks and the people who treasure them. There will also be a short video celebrating 75 years of the East Bay Regional Park District.  Ron Brown, President of Save Mt. Diablo, will talk about the need to preserve our local parks and open space.   Free coffee and cookies.  $5 donation suggested.   More info at sustainablelafayette.org.
