Spring into spring in the garden! One of our projects is restoring and rebuilding the transition space between Pleasant Hill Park & Rec District’s parking lot and PHIG. Your special talents are needed!

Contra Costa Master Gardeners, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Mt. Diablo School District students, DVC’s adaptive horticulture class, volunteers and neighbors are teaming up with the City of Pleasant Hill, the Pleasant Hill Community Foundation, Central Contra Costa Sanitary District, Contra Costa Water District, Pleasant Hill Garden Study Club and others to create a beautiful, water-conserving, low-maintenance garden at Pleasant Hill Education Center, across from Pleasant Hill Middle School.

The garden demonstrates healthy garden practices (using no pesticides), water conservation and recycling methods, with drought-tolerant and native plantings.  The garden is a certified wildlife habitat with the National Wildlife Federation.
