Event Description

Join Mike Vickers, Walnut Creek Public Services Manager to learn how Walnut Creek has transformed its own practices of caring for its gardens and landscaped areas in order to protect watersheds, natural habitats, and creeks. Participants will learn how to apply these concepts to their own gardens.

Mr. Vickers is in charge of caring for Walnut Creek’s green spaces and has operationalized the very principles of sustainable gardening and tree care that we all strive to achieve. Enjoy a visually appealing and informative presentation. Take a guided tour of the new Centennial Grove, celebrating the City’s 100th anniversary.

RSVP online at gardenshf.org

This lecture is part of the Discovering a Sense of Place Series. Co-sponsored by The Gardens at Heather Farm and the City of Walnut Creek, Discovering a Sense of Place is a free lecture series that runs from January to May 2015 with topics including water conservation and waste reduction.
