Hear from Heroic Local Teens Taking to the Streets to Protest Climate Inaction
Are adults moving too slowly to combat the climate crisis? Many youth think so, and growing numbers are taking to the streets to demand action now! Hear from two amazing local youth leaders—ages 13 and 14—Wednesday, Sept. 15th at 7 p.m. via Zoom at the monthly Green Sofa Cinema Series event. Register here

Green Sofa Cinema works this way: Before the event, view the short, powerful documentary “Disobedience” from the comfort of your own sofa. The film tells the story of regular people around the world risking their lives to fight for a livable climate. Watch the film free on YouTube

Then on Sept. 15 join a free, one-hour Zoom chat to talk about the film and hear from two members of Youth Vs. Apocalypse and Earth Guardians Bay Area, climate activist youth groups that utilize civil disobedience to get adults to act more rapidly on the climate crisis. Also hear from Rena Meyers-Dahlkamp, adult supporter for both local youth groups.

The Green Sofa Cinema Series features a new environmentally-themed film and Zoom discussion each month. Four Contra Costa environmental groups sponsor the series: 350 Contra Costa, Sustainable Rossmoor, Sustainable Contra Costa and Generation Green.
