Competition is supposed to be healthy -- a source of prosperity. It's the American way. So when rooftop solar began competing with established utilities in Nevada, why did the state government move to quash it?

Saturday Night Live's Cecily Strong travels to Florida and Nevada to investigate what's blocking the growth of solar energy in the U.S. She gets the real story from a retired utilities commissioner and other energy industry insiders willing to tell their stories.

Sustainable Lafayette’s annual documentary film series continues  March 7 with "Blocking The Sun", an episode of National Geographic's "Years Of Living Dangerously" series. Bryan Miller, a Lafayette resident and a former lobbyist for Exxon who joined the solar industry, is interviewed in the episode. He will be a guest speaker during a Q & A period following the screening.

Doors open at 6:30, screening begins at 7:30.
