People eat meat. That is a truth. But how we serve those needs and desires determines the welfare of many animals and the health of our planet as well as the health of the eating public. Is there such a things as ‘humane meat’? Can a small group of dedicated and passionate farmers help start a wave change in the agricultural industry?

We’ll start at 6pm with a potluck dinner (true to Slow Food USA values of Good Clean and Fair Food) then watch Eating Animals, a documentary supported and produced by Jonathan Safran Foer and Natalie Portman.

After, we’ll have a small panel of local people involved in the good food movement – both plant based and omnivorous – help lead us in a constructive discussion of the film’s ideas. We’re excited to have Monica and Aaron of The Local Butcher, Loren of Stemple Creek Ranch and Lucy Norris of Fresh Approach.

Minimum $5 donation at the door to help pay for venue and screening fees, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
