The Earth Day Celebration is an event aimed at uniting the community to discover innovative methods for leading sustainable lives and nurturing our planet. Through engaging activities like upcycling clothes, gardening, mural painting, park and garden beautification projects, games, inspiring speakers, bike-powered smoothies, and various other interactive booths, participants will explore enjoyable ways to contribute to environmental conservation and learn how to better care for our planet, Earth. Enjoy the day, celebrate environmental achievements & learn sustainable practices through engaging activities and volunteer opportunities such as:
- Park Cleanup
- Dumpster Area
- Garden Maintenance
- Petting zoo
- Upcycling Clothing
- Tie Dye
- Smoothie Bike
- Closet Swap
- Upcycled Bottle Planters
- E-bike sharing
- Fruit trees for the neighborhood and your home
- Solar panel and greywater system installation for income-qualified homeowners
- Employment and training opportunities
- New bike paths

The Earth Day Celebration will also host the kick off of Richmond Rising, a grant–funded initiative led by the City of Richmond and six non-governmental organizations.
