  • Location: WC Civic Park -
  • Latest Activity: Oct 30, 2020

Local residents and families are invited to the annual Creek Cleanup in downtown Walnut Creek on Saturday, May 14th from 8:45 am to noon.

This event is a great opportunity to take your children out into nature and explore shady sections of our local creek.  It’s the only day each year when it’s legal to wade in Walnut Creek and see sections that are usually off limits.  Every year we remove dumpster-loads of trash that would otherwise harm wildlife and pollute our creek, SF Bay and eventually even the Pacific Ocean.

  • Meet in Walnut Creek’s Civic Park
  • A continental breakfast is provided at 8:45 am.
  • An experienced crew leader will guide each group of volunteers.
  • See the flyer for details on what to wear or bring.
  • All participants must have a signed liability waiver   (Download at  http://www.friendsofthecreeks.org  OR sign at the Cleanup check-in.)
  • Children under 12 must come with a parent or guardian. Parents must sign waiver for kids 18 and under.
  • Three hours of community service credit available for upper grade students.

You will come home with a sense of accomplishment, community spirit, and a new appreciation of the natural ecosystem we live in.
This event is sponsored by the City of Walnut Creek and the non-profit Friends of the Creeks.

If you have questions or need more information please contact Lesley Hunt at contact@friendsofthecreeks.org or 925-937-6791.

Hope to see you at the Cleanup !
