For this year's Community Resilience Challenge, there are many different ways you can commit to conserving energy. If you've already read Kerry's article, "Conserve Energy: Complete a Home Energy Audit" and want to know more about getting a home energy audit through Rising Sun Energy Center, we have the details for you here!

Rising Sun Energy Center is providing Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Moraga, Martinez, Antioch, and Richmond residents with no-cost energy and water conservation services through a partnership with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), participating cities, and our local water districts.
At your Green House Call, Energy Specialists will:

  • perform an energy- and water-efficiency assessment,
  • install energy-efficient lighting, and water-efficient showerheads and faucet aerators,
  • perform a toilet leak detection test,
  • provide e-waste pick-up and disposal,
  • offer tips on recycling and energy and water conservation to save money on utility bills, and
  • give you an energy-conscious gift

— all at no cost to you!

Reserve your spot now and
start saving on your energy and water bills

Since 2000, Rising Sun has provided no-cost energy and water conservation services to over 28,000 residents throughout the Bay Area. Last year they serviced 4,444 Bay Area households, helping residents achieve the savings of nearly 25 million gallons of water annually.

Rising Sun provides services to all community members regardless of income with a focus on serving hard-to-reach residents, including renters, low-to-moderate income households, and non-English speaking households.  The program helps cities reach their Climate Action Plan targets and do their part to address California’s drought.

Green House Calls will begin June 30 and run through August 6, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
