I was asked by my boss to research Prop 26 because it could have an effect on our solid waste agency rate setting. So I did the research and what I found scared the heck out of me. This initiative was paid for by the oil, alcohol and tobacco industries as a way of getting around having to pay fees for mitigating the harm that they do to the environment and human health. They authors make it sound like they are helping ordinary folk to save money. What they are really after is them saving money.
