You made it through spring cleaning! But now you have a pile of electronic waste to deal with - did you know you can support a great local non-profit and ensure your electronic waste gets recycled, at the same time?
Futures Explored, Inc. (based in Lafayette) provides life skills and work-related training to adults with developmental disabilities. They run a number of programs, including the Nifty E-Waste Recycling Center. And rest assured, their upstream recycling is E-Steward certified (EPA's certification for quality and responsible electronics recycling).
Whether you stop by one of their free local e-waste centers, or use another service, make sure your old electronics are properly handled - it's illegal to throw it away like regular garbage!

You may have also seen the hard-working Futures Explored clients assisting with waste diversion stations at events! Last year they partnered with Republic Services to help educate folks about recycling and composting at the Lafayette and Walnut Creek Art & Wine, Danville Arts & Crafts Festival, and more.
Thanks Futures Explored!
