At the lawn-to-garden workshop, presented in partnership with Contra Contra Water District and the City of Pittsburg, participants learned sheetmulching conversion techniques to create a beautiful garden suitable for water-wise perennial landscaping at a private residence. Our group walked away with valuable knowledge that can be used in personal homes to convert lawns to water-wise gardens that support native fauna and conserve our resources! Not only is this process smart for our earth, it’s also smart for your wallet! CCWD and other water utilities offer a rebate to residents who convert their lawns to water-wise landscapes.
