Action of the Month: Volunteer or Give Back

The holidays are truly the most wonderful time of the year, when family, friends, and loved ones come together and celebrate one another and the things we are most grateful for. For some that means a mountain of presents, family feasts, or decking the halls with bountiful decorations. However there are so many in Contra Costa who could use some extra cheer this holiday season. Here are a few ways you can spread the holiday spirit this winter:

• Assemble a Holiday Food Box  for the Monument Crisis Center
• Prepare and serve meals, or help provide transportation, for the Winter Evening Program through the Trinity Center. 
• Donate gifts to homeless and in-need children and adults through the Bay Area Rescue Mission in West County. 
• Bag and give out groceries at a Food Bank program site. 
• Prepare and serve food at Loaves & Fishes.
• Volunteer or consider adopting an animal in need with the Contra Costa Humane Society
