The Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District is partnering with Restoration Trust in a project that is the first of its kind!
Join us at the Clayton Valley Drain as we endeavor to plant 16,000 native plants. This grand experiment will determine whether, when given a fighting chance, native species can out-compete the non-native plants that dominate our channels. We will be planting plugs of various densities on the slopes of the Clayton Valley Drain.
A barbeque lunch will be provided for attendees to enjoy!
Who should come:
- Volunteers of all ages are welcome.
- No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Fulfills community service requirements.
What to bring:
- Wear clothes that can get dirty. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Bring layers for changing weather and rain gear if necessary
- Bring a personal water bottle, sunscreen, and gloves if you have them.
