Sustainable Contra Costa has teamed up with Central San to teach elementary and high school students about local water issues and protecting the local watershed. Through the Water Wizards program, we take elementary school kids on an interactive adventure that explores the water cycle and the path of water from our homes to the bay. They uncover the mystery of cleaning wastewater and learn how to prevent pollution.
In Sewer Science, we guide high school students through a week-long lab program where they create simulated wastewater and then use biology and chemistry tests and procedures to conduct an actual wastewater treatment process. The SCOCO team is excited to be working with Central Contra Costa Sanitary District to raise awareness in kids and empower them to be good water stewards!
