The theme for this year's Awards Gala is "Together We Thrive: Building a Sustainable World Across Generations." Climate change solutions will require collaboration between diverse populations, including those of not only different cultures, socio-economic levels and genders, but also those from different age groups and generations!

We'll be featuring a number of community organizations, such as:
  • Global Student Embassy - an organization at Miramonte, Campolindo, Las Lomas and Acalanes High School (and many others in the Bay Area) that trains a future leaders though student action, intercultural exchange, and environmental education.
  • Elders Climate Action, Northern California Chapter - a non-partisan movement of elders leveraging their generation's voting consistency to push for policies that will reduce greenhouse gases.
  • Central Contra Costa's Last Plastic Straw, an initiative of Crestwood Healing Center - through education and volunteering, the inclusive community at Crestwood is working to reduce plastic pollution by first targeting the gateway issue of plastic straws.
Stop by their booths and many others at the Gala and learn more about the fantastic work they are doing here in Contra Costa County!
