The Central Contra Costa Last Plastic Straw campaign is continuing to gain momentum! This month, consider taking action to help stop the use of single-use plastic straws in Contra Costa by participating in the campaign.
Actions you can take:
- Refuse plastic straws at restaurants – remember to say “No straw, please” when ordering a drink.
- Start a conversation – talk to your favorite restaurants and café’s about why you’re saying “no” to plastic straws. See if they’ll consider instituting a straws only upon request policy, and make switch to a compostable or reusable option like paper, bamboo, or stainless steel.
- Go reusable – pack a straw with you on the go.
- Sign Central Contra Costa Last Plastic Straw campaign’s petition – show your support for a ban on plastic straws in Contra Costa.
