Imagine living in a beautiful neighborhood just a short walk from BART and great downtown shops and restaurants—together we can make this a reality for more Walnut Creek residents!

Over the past months, city staff has been gathering community input on how the area south of the Walnut Creek BART station, dubbed "West Downtown" could evolve in the next two decades. They've collected these ideas into several "alternatives." At this coming workshop, the City is seeking your feedback on these alternatives to identify the features that you think will help Walnut Creek thrive in the years ahead.

Join us on Tuesday, July 9 at the City of Walnut Creek's third community workshop for developing a long-term vision for "West Downtown"—an area stretching from the Walnut Creek BART station to Olympic Boulevard and from Highway 680 to California Boulevard.

Please attend to encourage city staff to plan for a more vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive Walnut Creek that includes:

  • Safer streets for walking and biking
  • New homes and businesses that serve the whole community—from seniors to young professionals to those most in need
  • Efficient use of land, easing the pressure of sprawl on our farms, ranches, and watersheds
  • Pocket parks, easy access to nearby open space, and green buildings

If you'd like to get more involved, please join us for happy hour at 5:30 p.m. at The Counter (Address: 1699 N. California Blvd.) just before the workshop.
