Join us for a community service day at the Upper Sand Creek Basin, a $10 million flood protection and habitat restoration project recently constructed by the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District. Now that construction is completed Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed will be partnering with the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District on a 10 acre wetlands restoration project within the basin.

On this work day we will be planting nearly 1000 native plants and trees. 400 of these plants were collected from the site, propagated and cared for over the past two years by county employee volunteers.
