with Lois Courchaine, Program Manager of Public Outreach, Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority

The Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority (SWA) is dedicated to developing and delivering high quality, cost effective solid waste reduction, recycling, and refuse programs that provide and promote sustainability in our communities.

Gain insight from Ms. Courchaine about what Contra Costa SWA is doing to promote sustainability within our communities and why recycling and composting is an essential part of this effort. Learn how SWA partners with local recycling and waste management companies to create sustainable practices in our county. You will also gain understanding about the value of composting and how easily you can create a composting center in your own backyard or at your business that will significantly reduce the amount of garbage you place in the bin each week.
