Even in our 4th year of drought, it’s never been more important for each of us to grow at least some of our own food.  Marian Woodard, Master Gardener and Navlet’s 2014 Gardener of the Year, will get you and your summer garden started organically and even more importantly, sustainably.  Marian is the co-founder and co-director of Rodgers Ranch Urban Farm & Teaching Gardens, and can teach you how to grow in pots, raised beds, or in the ground.

Students will learn:
·         Why it’s critical, especially in drought, we grow more of our own food
·         Components of a successful garden (sun, soil, water, appropriate seed or plant)
·         How to seed
·         How to transplant
·         How to choose garden inputs (soil, compost, tools)
·         How to take care of the garden once established
Students will leave with a 6-cell pack of seeds they’ve planted.
