Join the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District with the Restoration Trust at our 6th Annual Native Planting event on Clayton Valley Drain.

Giving Natives a Chance began as a joint effort between the Contra Costa County Flood Control District and the Restoration Trust to see if given a proper chance, native plants such as creeping wild rye, Santa Barbara sedge, and Baltic rush could outcompete invasive species in our creeks. This year we will be replanting on the east side of Solano Way. Native grasses are peeking through but they need our ongoing assistance! Activities will include weeding, trash pick up, and of course, planting. This is a great opportunity to get community service hours while restoring a section of the creek.

Light refreshments and lunch will be provided to our hard working volunteers! We encourage you to sign up in advance so that we can get an approximate head count for food.
