Mediterranean and drought tolerant gardens are low maintenance once you implement a plan. Proper maintenance practices such as pruning at the correct time, water management, insect identification, and proper fertilization are the key to a successful garden.

Keeping curb appeal and your garden thriving is desirable. But do we all have a green thumb? This workshop is designed to give gardeners, whether new or seasoned, practical information and ideas on setting up a garden maintenance calendar. Participants will receive a template for setting up a yearly maintenance plan, and resources for proper pruning and sustainable gardening practices. We will tour the CCWD garden to discuss pruning techniques and practices.

Our presenter is Patrice Hanlon who is a horticultural consultant, garden columnist for the San Jose Mercury News, garden coach and certified Bay Friendly designer. During her 25 year career she has developed many landscape maintenance plans for homeowners.

The workshop will take place outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
