Martinez to Host Free Workshop - Water Conservation 101

Saturday, July 12, 2014, 10 a.m. to Noon at Martinez City Hall, 525 Henrietta Street

The rains have gone, summer has arrived, and the great California drought is here.  In response to our serious water shortage, the City of Martinez and the Contra Costa Water District are asking residents to cut water usage by 15 percent.  Now is the time for you to take action and practice water conservation.  To help you do your best at saving water, the City of Martinez is hosting a special free workshop called Water Conservation 101.  This workshop is full of useful water conservation tips and facts, and includes the Top 10 Actions you can take to maximize water savings.

Attend the workshop and you will receive free water conservation devices and materials, and plenty of useful information to help you do your part to help the City of Martinez and the Contra Costa Water District conserve water.

The workshop will be instructed by Todd Sutton, aka the “Waste Sleuth,” principle consultant of WasteSleuth.com and a sustainability expert with more than 23 years in the recycling and conservation field.  Supporting the workshop with additional important information and advice will be Chris Dundon, Water Conservation Program Manager with Contra Costa Water District.

The Water Conservation 101 class is free but registration is required (and space is limited).  Please register today via email: H2Orsvp@cityofmartinez.org (preferred) or call (925) 372-3531.  For more drought information and conservation resources, please visit: http://www.cityofmartinez.org/depts/public_works/water_conservation.asp  and www.ccwater.com.
