You’re Invited: Contra Costa Family Farm Tour

This Saturday--Apricots, Peaches, Corn and More!

It’s harvest time in Contra Costa County!  West County residents are invited to visit two working farms in East County to sample local bounty, meet farmers, and learn how and where food grows.  Great for kids!

This bus tour is organized in conjunction with Richmond Farm-2-Table, a CSI (Community Supported Agriculture) membership program bringing boxes of fresh, locally grown produce to West County residents. Paying subscribers help subsidize produce for low-income families.

(For information on how to join Farm-2-Table call the Richmond Community Foundation at 510-234-1200 or Luz Gomez in Supervisor John Gioia's office at 510-374-3231.)

A limited number of seats are available for the general public, and reservations are required. Call now!

Where:Nystrom Elementary School, (11th Street entrance off Florida Avenue)

Cost: Free. Includes a picnic lunch.

Reservations: Lucretia Bobo, Richmond Community Foundation, 510-234-1200 or lbobo@richmondchildren.org

Sponsored by the Contra Costa Resource Conservation District in partnership with the Farm 2 Table Program, the Richmond Community Foundation, the Brentwood Agricultural Trust and Supervisor John Gioia's office.
