The California Hotel is getting ready to celebrate Juneteenth and People's Grocery is hosting a volunteer work day in order look our best for the event! On Saturday, May 31st starting at 10am until 3pm we will be doing some general cleaning, weeding, turning compost, harvesting worm castings, cleaning up on Chestnut Street, planting in the annual beds, and hauling stuff across the street or to the dump.
Come join us and help make our garden look beautiful for this big upcoming event celebrating west Oakland's rich cultural history!
Please bring food to share and some will be provided. Thank you for your ongoing support!
